The Laundry Mat

So today my wife and myself did laundry at a local laundry mat, and as I was reflecting on the day this evening this thought came to me. What are we doing with what we hear each week. How does this all tie together you might wonder. Well in a washer our laundry absorbs water during the wash. Thus we have to move them from the washer to the dryer to the dry the laundry. Now here is the thought that came to me. On Sundays we are like the clothes in the washer, we absorb what we are hearing like the clothes do the water. Then life moves into the work or school week just like the clothes moving to the dryer. So the point is this. What are doing with the messages we get each week after we have heard them. Are we going into the work week and losing everything we learned during the message. Or are we going into the work week and deepening ourselves on what we absorbed on Sunday. Are we drying out because we are focusing so much on our earthly lives that we forget things above. About God’s will and his purpose for us.

2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2

My prayer for you is that today you take something from the message that you will hear and deepen yourself with it. Look into scripture and grow from it, and not allow the things of this world to dry you out from Sunday. Thanks for reading and happy Sunday!!!
