Church Unity and the world

The very idea of church unity has been around since the beginning of the church in the book of Acts. This last very a brief time as you see in the book of 1st Corinthians the church is quarreling among its self and causing divisions.  These people were acting as John MacArthur would  put it carnally which means of flesh. These people were acting in their flesh in anger and jealousy instead of acting in a spiritual manner. Now what does that have to do with today. It still exists today. You hear of churches splitting over the carpet color, over to do one thing or another. I have seen strife in a church over doctrine. The cause is selfishness and other sins that tend to plague the church.

Because of this though WE ARE disgracing GOD!! WE ARE disgracing the GOSPEL!! WE ARE disgracing our SAVIOR!!! Because of this Christians are discredited and left to look like fools and the world is allowed to be confirmed in its lost ways.

Its strange how we act shows what we believe to the world. If we are sinful in our own church, how does that implement outside of the church? When the leadership allows sin to take over a church and not implement any sort of church discipline a church will fall in to the trap as the pull between spiritual and worldliness tear a church apart!!! Church unity requires us to be one under the banner of Christ. Ones living out God’s Word in our daily life and our private life. Acting carnal is not acceptable as Christians. Though we will fail we must get back up, look to Christ confessing our sin, and seeking forgiveness from our brothers and sisters in Christ. We must look to God’s word for direction for church and what we believe. Following Gods word and not our flesh and not our wisdom. As our wisdom is foolishness before God.
