But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart Matthew 5:28 ESV
A lot of people when they think of adultery they think of a married man or woman who have cheated on their spouses by have sexual relations with another man or woman, but as we see here, Jesus says its a much deeper heart issue. Jesus uses the male side of the fence in his example, but this also applies to women I believe. When we look at someone with lust, so checking a girl out and saying she is hot or sexy would follow under this is committing adultery. Think of it this way, God has already predestined the person of the opposite sex that we will marry one day, and if we are checking someone else then we basically checking out someone else’s future husband or wife. Thus in our hearts we are committing adultery. This also includes after you are married and you are window shopping. It is adultery to check out people when you are married or not. Just some food for thought today.
