Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Romans 1:24-25 ESV
If you were looking for a heart warming blog about our country for the 4th of July, go look up Joel Olsteen.
We stand on the week on Independence day in our country. A day in which we celebrate the birth of our country. Our country which has had a spiritual roller coaster when it has come to the creator of this earth and universe, is finally at the point were I believe that God has handed the world over to our lusts. Churches are allowing sin to run rampant inside of them, ignoring scripture. If you don’t believe me walk into any church and listen to the gossip, see the broken families. Look at the story lines from our countries news outlets. Things that God has declared an abomination has been given an approval eye, people are killing people on a daily basis, porn runs the heart of men who should be working to better improve their families. God has given the world over to it’s lust and desires, and we as believers can only watch and proclaim the truth in this fallen world.
Why is all of this, its because even churches have exchanged the truth of Gods Word for a lie. We have turned our backs on the Bible and only stand on a few speaking points but not all of them. We worship ourselves instead of the God that created us. Why are churches failing it has become about self worship, how can God bless me, and what has God done for me lately. Instead of heartfelt worship, heartfelt service to God, and a heartfelt dedication to His word. As Christians we need to find our stance on Gods word. We need to stand not only against things that we know are wrong but things that we think are acceptable that wrong. Such as divorce. Divorce is a sin in the Bible. Or how about not listening to the leadership of your pastor. A lot of churches turn against a pastor in heartbeat and they are let go over little things. Rebelling against Gods leadership is a sin. How about talking bad about Barrack Obama. That is a sin. We are to respect the leadership that God has placed in Charge. But if he asks us to do something that is against God we are to stand on God’s Word. Because I will always take God over a humans commands. America 239 years later does not much resemble herself. She has been torn by war and rebellion. Sin has ran rampant across this country and God has given this country over to it.
A call out to Christians, we need to stand on God’s word. We need to understand the fully text of the Bible and not just small points that our pastor preaches on Sunday morning. We need to be active in our families and church preparing future generations with God’s Word. God has called us all to be ministers of the Gospel, I think its about time we act like it.
