Sermon Notes 4/2/2017

Refuge Church: Pastor Shea Allen
Ephesians 6:1-4
Children obey their parents as an act of obeying God.
Paul always points to Christ because everything we do is Counter Cultural.
A child should not be the leader of his household.
If you rely on the Church to raise your kids and teach them the ways of the Lord, that is not how it works.
The Kids are the church of today and right now.
God has place you to be the spirtual leaders of your children.
Be willing to apologize to your kids when you mess up.

Children honoring your parents help you to escape sin and to lead a full life.
Don’t keep going back to sin. Sin Destroys.
Parents are suppose to pass down our beliefs and testimonys.
Parents are not perfect.
Being a parent is on the job training every day.
Fathers, be an example of your heavenly father to your children.
In that society the man was a dictator. Not what Paul is saying
Father should love, serve, discipline different then the rest of the world.
The only way the family can function correctly is by submitting to Christ.
We have far to many boys and not enough men.
We are called to let set our needs and wants to the side to meet our familys needs.
Are you an example to your kids of God. Just but forgiving.
That means loving our kids enough to be the mean mom or dad.
Paul is saying I don’t care how society does things, this is the way the christian home should be.
