Sermon Notes 7/30/2017

Hebrews 2:14-18

A God that understands your struggle, helps you overcome temptation and frees you from sin and death.

We ran from God, but Jesus came down and came to us.

Have you considered the humanity of Jesus?
We have a God that has been there and understands.
There is no fear in death in Jesus.
If you are saved you are eternally insured. You know where you are spending eternity.
Our salvation is not about us, its about what Jesus done. We can’t earn our salvation.
We don’t serve God to earn His favor, but instead serve Him because of what He has done for us on the Cross.

We are not all God’s Children, we are all God’s creation. We are not naturally inclined to seek God. We are bent towards evil, but Jesus came to redeem us.
We like to put Satan on and equal level with God, but Satan is not equal with God. He is defeated.
Reference: Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23
We don’t serve a weak pansy God, we serve a might God who is mighty to save.

We have a merciful, understanding , High Priest.
Galatians 3:6-7
Its about your heritage, your parents, or anything you have done. Its about Jesus
Grace unmerited.
Jesus understands our pain, temptations, emotions, but yet He was without sin.
No one loves you the way Jesus loves you.

He was tempted and can help you overcome temptation.
He hears us when we call out to Him.
We have a God that understands that’s been there.
Jesus knows your struggle today.
James 4:17
Things get more difficult when we come to Christ, not easier. Temptations become stronger, pain happens more.
We’ve been equipped for battle and we can fight back with God’s Word and Prayer.
