sermon notes 9/3

Refuge Church
Shea Allen
Hebrews 12:1-4

Are you conditioning yourself for a long race?
Goal: Be a faithful witness that endures to the end of the race.

If you are not taking steps to be a christian that does more then exists on Sundays you will fail and not grow.

Look for examples of present and past, in scripture.
There is going to be temptation to quit.
The christian life is more then a sprint, if you run it like a short race you won’t make it.
The life is multiple marathons and we have to feed and prepare ourselves as such.
Be in the bible on a regular basis.
These people in the Bible are not perfect people but are screw ups.
Share stories with with one another about God’s faithfulness.
We need to know we are not alone.
We have to let God change our hearts.
Don’t put our selves in situations that can cause sin or make the appearance of sin. Which could cause others to sin.
We can’t run the race if we don’t know Jesus.
We have to put our faith in Jesus.
