Sermon notes 10/8/2017

Acts 6:1-7
Growing Pains

Jesus you can use me, we are called to bring hope to everyone around us.
God uses the unqualified.
If you’re not a missionary, you’re an impostor.

The Church needs to be prepared for growth
God is going to bring people who are not exactly like you.
Christians need to be prepared for that, that we want God to bring everyone to us.
We love comfort, but we need to embrace the awkward.
Are we prepared to be the church that God has called us to be.
Galatians 3:28
Are you prepared to love, receive and welcome whoever God brings our way.
We are all brought together for the mission of Jesus Christ.
We have to force ourselves to shift outward not inward.
Jesus went against the culture norm, like the women at the well, Zacchaeus, Matthew

Every Believer has to be ready to do their part
We meet needs in one accord, we serve one another, but every member has to do their part.
Ephesians 11
They recognize they can’t do it all.
We need people to serve and that’s it not one member doing everything.
These are the first deacons of the church
These are the people who serve the body of the church

As the church stepped into their ministry roles, more people came to faith in Christ
We serve because Jesus has served us.
